Mishkan land is one of the most beautiful places of Bashkortostan. And here the East Mari live side by side with other peoples of the republic as if in one big paternal house. They call their native land “Arvel” which mean in Mari “down”. The land born with the sun beams is light. That is why dancing company “Arvel” has this beautiful name as well as its home land.

According to its ethic origin the Mari belong to Fenno-Ugric group. Ith history is ancent, intricate and several. But dispite all the difficulties the Mari managed to preserve their original culture. Dancing company “Arvel” is their of remarkable cultural traditions of its ancestors. It has been demonstrating the Mari people culture aboutt herty years already. It is one of the most popular amateur companies of the republic.

Company is programme is varied is interesting. It includes having a strong plot, full of action genre scenes and dances of the Est Mari, as well as dances of other peoples of Bashcortostan. The proud and adornment of its performances is the Mari folk dance with its distinctive manner of performing.

Original repertoire and the brigthness of dances bring deserved success with various andience not only in the republic. Thousands spectators fom Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Kazan, Izhevsk, Yoshkar-Ola and other sities and regions of Rusha aplauded tu the marvelous dance of amateur perfomers of “Arvel”.

“Arvel” is the regular participant of all conests and festival, concerts held in the rebublic. It is Grand Prix winner of the intenational Folk Festival “Sodruzhestvo”, which took plase in 1994, in Ufa. The artistic director of the ensemble is the Honoured Culture Woker of Bashkortostan Yanybai Yangubaev.
